Earl Gibson, 57, died suddenly at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in his home at 402 California St. Mr. Gibson was an employe of the Blue River Feed Co. He had also been employed by the New Richmond Elevator. His wife, the former Mary Roxie Whitaker, survives. Born on May 5, 1911 in Ladoga, he was the son of Silas and Maggie Cox Gibson. He was married on Nov. 15, 1930. The deceased was reared in the Ladoga community and attended school there. Mr. Gibson was a veteran of World War II. Surviving besides the widow are a son, Donald Lee of Wingate; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Mantooth of Speedway, Mrs. Phyllis Wheeler of Clarks Hill and Mrs. Nancy Ammerman of Mellott; a brother, Ed Gibson of Greencastle; three sisters, Mrs. Cale Weddle of Yoder, Wyo., Mrs. Hattie Higgins of Waveland and Mrs. Edith Denny of Indianapolis; 15 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and a sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Powers Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Carlile in charge. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery.
